Cooper announces reward for information on Hoke County murder

Governor Roy Cooper announced on Friday, April 30, 2021 that the State of North Carolina is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Justin Llyod Mix, 41.

According to a press release from the governor’s office, on September 18, 2019, Raeford police officers were dispatched to an assault behind the Sun Do Gas Station located at 526 Aberdeen Road in Raeford. Upon arrival, officers located the victim – identified as Justin Llyod Mix – unresponsive and appeared to have been beaten. He was transported to the local hospital where it was determined that Mix suffered severe head trauma and was in critical condition, according to the release. On October 27, 2019, Mix died due to his injuries.
