Mechanical harvest of oysters closed in Pamlico sound bays
North Carolina Marine Fisheries Proclamation SF-6-2020 closes the Pamlico Sound bays and creeks to the commercial harvest of oysters by mechanical methods from public bottom.
The proclamation is effective at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27.
The proclamation explanation states “the Pamlico Sound bays are closed and will re-open in December for the remainder of the season in accordance with the N.C. Oyster Fishery Management Plan Amendment 4, unless closed sooner by proclamation.”
