Updated COVID-19 case counts reported

On Saturday, July 11, Dare County Health and Human Services announced 13 more COVID-19 positive tests, bringing the total number of pandemic cases in the county to 194.

Some 106 of the recorded positive test cases have recovered or are asymptomatically cleared.

Residents account for 113 of the positive tests; non-residents 81.

Overall, of the 81 non-residents with positive tests, 21 have transferred isolation to a home county. Sixteen reportedly remain in isolation in Dare County.

According to Martin-Tyrrell-Washington District Health, ten new positive COVID-19 cases were reported in Tyrrell County on Saturday, bringing that county’s total number of positive cases to 49, with 36 recovered and one death.

As of 3 p.m. on July 11, Hyde County Health Department reports 31 total cases for Hyde. Of those, 12 are reported to be active positive, 19 recovered.

Albemarle Regional Health Services, which serves eight northeastern counties, monitors outbreaks at local facilities.

In its July 10, 2020, news release, the health agency reported that the outbreak at Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation has “resolved.” North Carolina considers an outbreak over if there is no evidence of continued transmission, which is measured at the 28th day after the latest date of onset of symptoms or latest specimen date of a person who is asympomatic.

Current COVID-19 case counts for Currituck County (23 lab confirmed cases – three active and 20 recovered), Pasquotank County (234 lab confirmed cases – 23 active, 194 recovered and 17 deaths) and Camden County (34 lab confirmed cases – 7 active, 26 recovered and one death) were also reported Friday by ARHS.
